In the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. series, Kirby would be able to use a hammer to attack enemies. The actions Kirby would do while using the hammer are very similar in each series. In the Super Smash Bros. series, the ability originated in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and went on to appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl too.

The hammer is obtained in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and can be used to solve puzzles, break pots, and defeat certain enemies.
