The Goron Mines are a location in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The game's second dungeon, they are located deep inside Death Mountain and can only be accessed by obtaining the Iron Boots from Ordon's Mayor Bo. The mines are used by the rock-eating Goron people in order to obtain food and resources and numerous examples of machinery constructed by the Goron's can be seen inside. However, their mining activities were put to a halt when the Goron's dug up a Fused Shadow from the Twilight Realm, corrupting their leader, Darbus, and turning him into the rampaging fire giant, Fyrus, which is now chained up in the mine's lowest levels.
It's possible that the Goron Mines are a future version of Dodongo's Cavern from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, having changed drastically by the time of Twilight Princess. Some of the dungeon's layout closely resembles Dodongo's Cavern and Dodongo's appear as common enemies inside.
