GoldenEye 007 is a first person shooter James Bond game for the Nintendo 64 developed by Rare, Ltd. and published by Nintendo in 1997.

This game is considered to be one of the best first-person shooter games ever. At the time this game defined First Person Shooters. When it was released it was met with great reviews. People thought of this game as one of Rare's best. It's based on the James Bond film of the same name released in 1995.

Development

One of the games earliest announcements was in February 1995. It was announced in Nintendo Power V69, 9 months before the release of the actual film on which the game is based. It was announced that Nintendo had made a licensing and development deal.
