The Gerudo's Fortress is a location in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It is the hideout of the Gerudo tribe.

Description[]

The Gerudo's Fortress is heavily guarded; there are Gerudo patrolling the exterior and interior of the fortress. If any of the Gerudo catch Link, he is thrown in a cliffside holding cell in the northwest corner of the area. Fortunately, he can escape using his Hookshot or Longshot to pull himself up to the wooden window. Mutoh's carpenters are imprisoned inside the hideout after they try to join the Gerudo. To free them, Link must fight off a Gerudo Thief who holds the keys to each of their cells. This isn't as simple as it seems, as Gerudo guards patrol near the doorways to the rooms where the carpenters are. Any Gerudo dressed in purple can be stunned with the Hookshot or Longshot, or knocked out with the Fairy Bow.

After freeing all four of the carpenters, Link's efforts impress the Fortress caretaker, who gives him the Gerudo Membership Card, allowing him to move around the fortress without being imprisoned anymore. This also allows him to take on the Gerudo Training Ground, or play the Horseback Archery game.
