Fuse Man, known in Japan as "Hiuse Man", is a Robot Master who appears in Mega Man 11. Originally created to manage electrical equipment in a power plant, Fuse Man was reprogrammed by Dr. Wily to fight against Mega Man. He is able to freely manipulate high voltage currents and move at lightning speed, being able to instantaneously get on an opponent's blind spot and emit electric attacks. When he activates the Speed Gear installed by Dr. Wily, he gains a speed boost and becomes as fast as lightning. His Special Weapon, Scramble Thunder, allows Mega Man to launch a sphere of electricity that will cling onto solid surfaces and can be controlled in any direction.

Fuse Man is one of the more humanoid-looking Robot Masters. His outfit is a yellow-green suit. His helmet has two blue horns that can blow to allow him to do his job. His boots have thunderbolts engraved into their upper surfaces. Fuse Man can be a showoff with his powers, being able to move super-quickly. He needs to be awake all the time to do his job, hence his owning of an Unagi (in Japan), or Usagi (in the U.S.) named Watt. Fuse Man bears the serial number DLN-082.

Trivia[]

  • Fuse Man makes several electrical puns:
    • His pre-battle taunt involves the term diode, an electronic device that allows current to flow in one direction only; used chiefly as a rectifier. This term is mixed with the phrase "Prepare to die!", with "die" being replaced by "diode".
    • His death lines reference the term "short circuit", which happens when electricity takes unwanted paths, and "blackouts", which occur due to a power failure, often widespread.
  • Fuse Man's weakness to the Bounce Ball pokes fun at rubber's poor conductivity.
  • Tundra Man's weakness to the Scramble Thunder alludes to ice's conductivity.
