The Forbidden Woods is an island located next to the Forest Haven in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. The island serves as a dungeon after Link is asked by the Great Deku Tree to find Makar, a Korok who fell into the woods.

Once inside the dungeon, Link has to explore numerous rooms in which the only way to proceed from one to another is by finding ways to clear the doors of the one-eyed parasites, usually involving the use of Boko Nuts and Bomb Flowers. The Deku Leaf is a huge help in this dungeon and is required for most of the puzzles, as it was given to Link by the Deku Tree shortly before he enters the woods since it's required to reach the island in the first place.
Guarded by a winged Mothula, this dungeon's item is the Boomerang, which is used to stun enemies, cut ropes, activate switches and even destroy the parasites plaguing the dungeon. Like any dungeon item in the game, the Boomerang is used primarily to defeat the boss, Kalle Demos, a giant carnivorous plant that swallowed Makara after he landed in the Forbidden Woods. after defeating the boss, Link obtain a Heart Container and Farore's Pearl.
