Flowery Woods is a boss in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, encountered in the game's first world, Fine Fields. Flowery Woods was created from an ordinary Floralian flower by the spider wizard, Taranza, in order to distract Kirby while he escapes with the kidnapped King Dedede. Taranza's magic causes the flower to animate and grow into a massive flowering tree with a face. Flowery Woods is a variant of Whispy Woods, a character who is well known for being an early boss in many Kirby games. Although, aside from its appearance and fighting style, Flowery is otherwise unrelated to Whispy Woods.
Like Whispy, Flowery can extend its roots in an attempt to impale or crush Kirby and spit puffs of air. Though, instead of dropping apples on Kirby, Flowery Woods creates balls of pollen from its flowers. These pollen balls can also combine into larger pollen balls and be rolled like a bowling ball. It can also launch its flower blossoms like the rotor of a helicopter, turning the hardened petals into razor sharp saw blades.
Boss Battle[]
Flowery Woods starts the fight almost identically to Whispy Woods, sitting on the right side of the screen, shooting air puffs at Kirby and occasionally trying to impale him with its roots. Balls of pollen drop from its flowers that Kirby can inhale and spit back if he doesn't have a Copy Ability. After taking a little bit of damage, though, Flowery Woods changes up its tactics, jumping into the background and attacking from there.
Trivia[]
- Flowery Woods is one of four variants of Whispy Woods encountered in the series. The others are King Golem from Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Yggy Woods from Kirby Star Allies and Tropic Woods from Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
