Flint is an Elite Four member in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Platinum for the Nintendo DS. He uses Fire Type Pokémon.
In Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, and Platinum and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Flint is the third member of the Sinnoh Elite Four. He is friends with Volkner, the Gym Leader of Sunyshore City. Flint's younger brother is Buck, and their grandfather runs the Battleground.
Flint first encounters the in Sunyshore City, informing them about the recent blackouts and Volkner's disillusionment as a Gym Leader. He asks the player to bring back the excitement of Pokémon battles to Volkner, standing in front of the Sunyshore Gym's door until the player has talked to Volkner at Vista Lighthouse.
In Pokémon Platinum, Flint and Volkner challenge the player and their rival to a Multi Battle when they first arrive at the Fight Area.
