Fist of the North Star, also known as Hokuto no Ken 2, is the second game of the Fist of the North Star series to released for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Originally released in 1987 in Japan it was later released for the North American market in 1989 around the time that Viz Communications is doing an English adaptation of the manga making it the first game of the manga and anime series to be licensed outside of Japan.
