The Fireball is an attack that Mario can perform in most of the games he appears in. It is an orb of fire that can be used to attack enemies or to destroy obstacles. Typically, Mario can only shoot fireballs if he acquires a Fire Flower, allowing him to become Fire Mario (or Fiery Mario). Additionally, Mario can shoot fireballs from his hand (without using a Fire Flower), which is seen in games such as Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga or games in the Super Smash Bros. series.
Appearances
Super Smash Bros.
In the Super Smash Bros. series, Mario and Luigi's standard B move is a Fireball. Mario's Fireball bounces along the ground, while Luigi's Fireball (which are green spectral flames) floats more through the air.
