Fire Fox is an attack in the Super Smash Bros. series. It can be performed only by Fox McCloud, though Falco Lombardi has a similar attack called Fire Bird. It's basically a recovery move that will launch Fox upwards. If any of his opponents get in the way, then they'll be burned by the fire that is released.
There is not much use besides recovery. It only hits opponents once outside charging and the maximum damage combined with the charging damage is 28% and pretty poor for killing. The endlag on the move makes it pretty punishable. However, if the player aims right and hits the opponent, it can lead to a moderate advance. Enough to setup for smashes while the opponent is recovering.
With Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, there are two variations .
- Flying Fox - Fox flies straight through the move, but he doesn't cause any damage.
- Twisting Fox - Fox does a slower twisting attack with more control but no fire. The final hit does extra knockback. This might be a callback to the Barrel Roll manuever from the Star Fox series.
