The Outer Worlds is a first person role-playing game released for the Nintendo Switch. It was originally developed by Obsidian Entertainment and ported by Virtuos in June 2020. It takes place in a space colony thoroughly under the control of corporations with the player being a recently defrosted colonist.
Gameplay[]
Similar to the Fallout series, the player controls the game from a first person perspective with guns being the primary form of combat. The player starts by creating their character and their backstory. After the tutorial, the player unlocks a ship which serves as a fast travel point and moves the player between the planets during the story. At various points in the story, the player will come across non-playable characters that can be recruited to be a companion with their own stories and personal missions. Each companion has their skills and develops their own specialization. The player can only have up to 2 companions with the rest waiting on the ship. The player also makes dialogue choices that will affect the overarching story.
