Bea alongside various Fighting-type Pokémon
Fighting is one of the 18 Pokémon types. Centered around martial arts expertise, fighting type Pokémon possess a strongly competitive nature, loving to battle even more than most Pokémon. Even in the wild, they will routinely seek out the strongest Pokémon (or even human) in a given area just to fight them to test their skills and the physically strongest among them often rises to leadership of a group. Many human martial arts in the Pokémon World were developed by watching and emulating the behavior of Fighting types.
The vast majority of Fighting type Pokémon are bipedal as standing on two legs gives them greater ability to use their fists as weapons and many are humanoid in terms of body shape or design. The type ties with the Psychic type for having the most Pokémon in the human-like egg group. Machop and Mankey for example, lose their tails and become more humanoid when they evolve into Machoke and Primeape respectively. Exceptions to this are ungulate Pokémon that fight using their horns like swords, such as the Swords of Justice, Great Tusk and Paldean Tauros and Zamazenta, who's modeled after a roman centurion and uses its shield-like mane as a weapon.
Gameplay wise, this type tends to be physical oriented with a couple special options. Including forms, there are 67 different species of Fighting-types with 7 Legendary Pokémon and 3 Mythical Pokémon.
The type is strong offensively but has mixed defenses. Defensively, it resists Dark, Bug and Rock types, but is weak to the Flying and Psychic types plus the Fairy type as of Generation VI. They typically have low defenses so a Super Effective attack can be dangerous, especially since Fighting is not that effective against it. Offensively, it has strengths against several defense-oriented like Rock and Steel as well as against some difficult types like Normal and Dark and is also strong against Ice. However, it is not strong against Bug, Fairy, Psychic, Flying and Poison as well as Ghost types, the latter being completely invulnerable. To counter Bug and Flying, most Fighting-types have access to Rock-type moves like Stone Edge. For Psychic and Ghost types, most Fighting-types have access to a Dark-type move like Knock Off.
