A Midnight Snack
Felicia: Please, you must return me to my village!
Thanatos: You no longer have a place there. Henceforth, you will exist in this dark world and dance only for me. Now go, my sweet! Dance!
Felicia: (I hoped to never have that dream again.)
Felicia: But now, the very thought of sleep terrifies me...
Euden: Looks like everything's in order here. ...Hmm? Is that Felicia?
Felicia: O moon, grant the light of peace to all who sleep in this castle. O stars, shine the light of hope upon this darkened sky. I offer my dance and prayers to the vast heavens above.
Euden: Good evening, Felicia. That was a beautiful dance.
Felicia: Ack! How long have you been there, Euden?!
Euden: Not long. I was just on my way back to my room when I saw you.
Felicia: It's quite late to be returning to your room. Were you on patrol?
Euden: Something like that. Er, but maybe you could keep this a secret from the others? They're just going to tell me I should get more sleep if they hear about it.
Felicia: Hah hah, I can imagine. It will be our little secret, then.
Euden: Thanks. But hey, what are YOU doing up at such an hour?
Felicia: The embarrassing truth is that I was woken by a dream and can't get back to sleep. I still have nightmares of the time I spent imprisoned by Thanatos. I thought some dancing might help calm me and take my mind off it. But I still don't feel like I can sleep.
Euden: I'm not surprised to hear that. It was a really terrible experience. ...Wait. I think I've got an idea. Come with me, Felicia!
Felicia: Er, all right. But where are we going?
Euden: Here, I made you some hot milk.
Felicia: So THIS was your idea! Mmm, it smells lovely.
Euden: My mother always used to make it whenever I couldn't sleep.
Felicia: She sounds like a very kind person. Thank you, Euden. ...It's a gentle taste. And the warmth puts me at ease. Sleep should come easily after this.
Euden: I'm glad to hear it.
Ranzal: Hey, somethin' smells great in here! Is it pie? Or maybe TWO pies?!
Euden: Ranzal? What are you doing here?
Ranzal: Thought I'd pop in here for a midnight snack or three. Looks like my timin' was spot on the nose!
Euden: Well, there's no pie, but we do have warm milk. Would you like a cup?
Mym: Warm milk? Gimme!
Felicia: You're up too, Mym?
Mym: I wouldn't miss a chance to sample something made by my darling.
Cleo: All right, what's going on down here?
Elisanne: We can hear you all the way upstairs.
Luca: Huh?! Someone must have lost my invite to this party, but I'm crashin' it anyway!
Euden: Good grief. Did we wake EVERYONE?
Felicia: All this just because I couldn't sleep.
Luca: You know what's best for times you can't sleep? A FEAST!
Cleo: A feast. ...In the middle of the night.
Luca: Sure! If you aren't sleepy, the best thing to do is gorge yourself until you are.
Ranzal: Now THIS cat gets it! Everyone has fun, THEN gets to ride the midnight train to sacktown. We're killin' a couple'a birds with one catapult!
Elisanne: I'm not certain that is the most appropriate way to describe this.
Mym: This sounds fun. Let's do it!
Felicia: I suppose it DOES sound rather exciting now that I think about it.
Luca: Well, if Felicia's in, we've gotta do it!
Euden: I think it's a good idea. Elisanne? Cleo? How do you feel about it?
Elisanne: If you have no objections, neither do I.
Cleo: Well then, what food does everyone want? It wouldn't be much of a feast without any.
Euden: This is going to be great!
Ranzal: *BURRRRRRRRP* N-not another bite. ...Maybe just one more ham? Zzzzz...
Mym: Zzz...Oh, darling...you're so cuddly...zzz...
Luca: All right, now it's my turn to be the entertainer...
Elisanne: Zzz...
Cleo: Zzz...
Felicia: Heh. Looks like they're all fast asleep.
Euden: Sorry, Felicia. This feast was really supposed to be for you. Yet here you are helping me put blankets over people.
Felicia: Oh, please don't apologize. I feel like I'll be able to sleep soundly after this. We've all been playing around like children, and I'm exhausted.
Euden: In that case, let's hit the hay.
Felicia: I think we should. I'm sure I'll have sweet dreams tonight.
Euden: If you ever can't sleep again, just tell us, all right? We'll throw another feast.
Felicia: I will. 'Night, Euden.
