Fate/Samurai Remnant is an action game for the Nintendo Switch published by Koei Tecmo in 2023. It is an original story in the Fate universe taking place in Edo Period in Japan.
Gameplay[]
The game centered around the player Master character and their respective servant. The player primarily controls the Master, using one of the five stances and their sword skills with some limited capability for magic for foes impervious to swords. The servant will act independently and assist the player with their sword skills and ability to shoot out water. Certain enemies are immune to the master's attacks but, can be left exposed once the servant breaks the enemy's Shell Gauge.
Outside of combat, the player can explore the city of Edo, This can progress the story and engage with the other Masters and involve the player with an array of quests. Beyond that, the player can use food stalls to regain energy or play with the local animals.
Plot[]
The game's plot revolves around the Waxing Moon Ritual, a variant of the Holy Grail War of the main timelines. The player is Miyamoto Iori, disciple of Miyamoto Musashi, who happens to summon a Saber servant. He is pulled into the conflict, fighting the 6 other Masters and servants.
