Face Off is a sports game (focused on ice hockey) for the Wii Virtual Console. It was originally released exclusively in Japan as an arcade game by Namco in 1988. The Virtual Console version was released in October of 2009, also exclusively in Japan.


The game supports up to 4 players simultaneously, either competitively or cooperatively. Each team can select between 3 and 5 rostered players, including the goalie.

As in the real-world sport of hockey, the object is to score more goals than the opposing team to win the game.


The teams in the game are countries: United States, Japan, Canada, Soviet Union, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, and France.
