F-1 Race is a Game Boy video game released in 1990 and in 1991 by Nintendo.
Gameplay
Before you start the race, you'll have to chose from one of two different racers. After this, you'll race against multiple opponents on tracks that range from famous countries and areas including Japan, the United States of America, Canada, and five others. As in many racing games there are check points throughout the race that will add more time to the clock.
While racing, you'll be able to see the map, how fast you're going, what rank you are in, how many laps are left, how much time is left, and how much health you have on the bottom half of the screen.
There is also a multiplayer mode that allows you to race against one other person.
Cameos
Each racing track features a different cameo of a popular Nintendo character. Characters included were, in order of appearance, Toad, Luigi, Peach (all from the Mario series, Link (from the Legend of Zelda series), Mario (Mario series), Samus Aran (from the Metroid series), Pit (from the Kid Icarus series), and Donkey Kong (from the Donkey Kong series). Bowser, from the Mario series, also appears later on in the game.
