Dragon Roost Island is a location found in the GameCube video game The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It is the home of the bird-like Ritos which worship Valoo, the dragon-like spiritual deity living at the top of the mountain.

Overview[]

The area is mostly a rocky island with a few water points and rare vegetation beside the Bomb Flowers which are known to grow on harsh environment. The main settlement of the Rito tribe is found inside a cave presumably carved by the Rito themselves. From there, the Rito act as the main postal service of the Great Sea. The island is also known for its Wind Shrine, which honors the twin Wind Gods Cyclos and Zephos. Behind the Rito's settlement is the path that leads to the Dragon Roost Cavern, which acts as the first dungeon of the game.

Fishman's Comment[]

"There's a real peculiar cave toward the backside of this here Dragon Roost Island. Yeah, real peculiar. But I doubt you'll ever get there to see it, small fry-unless you manage to sprout wings and fly, that is... 'Cause you won't be getting there otherwise!"

Enemies[]

Hyrule Warriors series[]

In Hyrule Warriors Legends and Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, Dragon Roost Island appears conjoined with Windfall Island and the Forsaken Fortress as a stage. The stage is named solely after the Forsaken Fortress but the Dragon Roost Island is referenced in the name of some keeps located on the stage.
