Dragon Knight 4(JP) is a strategic role-playing video game released exclusively in Japan. It was published by Banpresto and released for the Super Famicom in 1996.

The game is a port of the home computer game of the same name by élf. Two of the differences the Super Famicom version has is lower art quality and the addition of new characters.

Gameplay[]

The game features a turn-based battle system, with the player in control of up to eight additional characters. Allies and enemies are both separated into different classes: swordsmen, archers and sorcerers, with certain armor and weaponry being appropriate to each.

Instead of having HP for units, the game uses a system where each unit is defined as a number of soldiers. Soldiers get killed each time a unit is attacked, and the number remaining influences their strength and defense, so whoever attacks first has always the advantage. Each battle also has a turn limit.

The game has a heavy focus on story. The central character of the game is Kakeru (カケル), the son of Yamato Takeru, and the sorceress Luna. The player is informed of the wizard Lucifon's plot to destroy civilization and must guide Kakeru through a number of battles to defeat Lucifon.
