Dr. Mario is an puzzle video game created by Nintendo. It was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Game Boy in 1990. This version was also later released as apart of the Classic NES series in 2004. A version of Dr. Mario was also released along side Tetris as Tetris & Dr. Mario for the SNES in 1994.
In 2001, the first real remake of the game was released for the Nintendo 64 as Dr. Mario 64, featuring new modes of play and more options.
A Game Boy Advance version was released as Dr. Mario & Puzzle League in 2005.
The NES version of Dr. Mario is slated for an upcoming release on the Wii Virtual Console. It has been confirmed for a January release in Japan.

- The character Dr. Mario was a unlockable, playable character in Super Smash Brothers Melee.
- Wario-ized version of Dr. Mario was included as a secret minigame in the game WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$. The only significant differences were that Wario takes Mario's place, that the viruses have different faces and limited music selection.)
