Dr. Luigi (JP) is a title in the Dr. Mario series. The game was released exclusively for Nintendo eShop on the Wii U as part of the Year of Luigi. As the title suggests, the game stars Dr. Luigi in a game very similar to Dr. Mario. Unlike his brother, Dr. Luigi still wears his hat rather than a head mirror.

Gameplay[]

Gameplay is similar to gameplay in the Dr. Mario series. There are 4 modes, Dr. Luigi mode, Classic Mode, Online Multiplayer, and Virus Buster mode. The first two can be played in either competitive multiplayer or normal single player getting to level 20. In local multiplayer, the players can choose handicaps in difficulty which increases the number of viruses and fall speed, which is self explanatory.

Dr. Luigi mode is different in that 2 pills are stuck together in an L shape instead of one. Sometimes, this can be incredibly helpful, but it requires much more planning. Dr. Luigi has variated music as well, with Drowsy and Dizzy instead of Chill and Fever.

Virus Buster returns from Dr. Mario Online Rx, though it is played on the gamepad and plays more like the Brain Age version.
