Donkey Kong Jungle Action Special was a one-shot magazine published only in the United Kingdom by Fleetway Editions in 1995. As suggested by the cover, it was a tie-in with the then-recent Donkey Kong Country and was also promoting the soon-to-be-released Donkey Kong Land. It features three comic stories and several articles.
Around the time of the magazine's publication, Fleetway had pitched doing a regular Nintendo comics magazine, not unlike their already-running video-game periodical Sonic the Comic. The magazine's opening page seems to tease this, saying that Fleetway had "big plans for the big ape"; however, Nintendo rejected Fleetway's pitch for a regular series, and no further issues were published.
Comics[]
All three of the magazine's comics were written by Nigel Kitching, who was notably one of the main writers for Sonic the Comic.
