Dig Dug(JP) is a classic arcade title from Namco that was ported to the Famicom. While the West never got the original game, the Japanese version was added to virtual console and they remade the game for the Game Boy. Dig Dug has also been included in a few iterations of Namco Museum including the GBA one. The Famicom version was remade again for the GBA as a part of the Famicom Mini series.

Gameplay[]

In this game, Dig Dug, (You), must dig around and defeat the two different types of enemies, the dragons (Which can shoot flames) and unnamed red enemies with goggles (Which simply walk into you). He can do this by either inflating them with his pump (the normal way), or by smashing them with rocks (Which gives you more points). At 10,000 points, you get an extra life. Certain items will also pop up in the middle of the map that give you a lot of points.Once you defeat all of the enemies in the stage you're on, you advanced to the next stage. All of the stages get progressively harder. You continue this gameplay until you run out of lives and get a game over.
