DiC Entertainment was an entertainment brand focused on producing mostly family-friendly programs and films. It was founded in 1971 as DIC Audiovisuel and closed in December 2008 after merging with Cookie Jar.
DiC Entertainment has produced programs based on the Mario, The Legend of Zelda series and properties of the Nintendo Entertainment System library. Other video game adaptations by DiC included the 1984 Pole Position cartoon, Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?, and the first three original animated shows based on Sonic the Hedgehog.
