Devil (デビル, Debiru) is a character from the Famicom video game Devil World. He is a blue demon who sports two horns and red wings. He was the antagonist of the game, and later appeared as an Assist Trophy in the Wii video game Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Appearances

Devil World

In the game, the protagonist Tamagon attacks Devil's world. He'll go through a maze like environment collecting crosses, similar to the video game Pac-Man where the main character would go through a maze collecting dots. During the whole game, the Devil will be stationed at the top and point in different directions. His minions will then move the walls in the direction he is pointing in an effort to squish Tamagon between the walls. In the second round, Tamagon has to carry four Bibles to a seal in the middle of the maze. If he succeeds, Devil will weaken, turn into a bat and fly away.

Other appearances

  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Devil is one of the Assist Trophies in the game. When released from the trophy he will point in a direction in which the screen's placement will move, similar to his role in Devil World. This move is odd as it rather than benefiting the player, actually is a negative attack.
  • Captain Rainbow: Devil appears as one of many old Nintendo characters. In the game, he wishes to become the number one villain in the underworld.
  • Art Style: PiCTOBiTS: Devil is the picture in dark mode stage 10. His minion Medaman also appears in normal mode stage 10 and Co-Devil in dark mode stage 9.

Minions

Picture Name Description
Medaman
Medaman the fried-eggman Scorch him and he turns into a fried egg, which Tamagon gobbles up. But even after being gobbled, Medaman has the power to come back to life.
Co-Devil
Co-Devil Always wandering around. When he's attacked by fire, he changes direction.
Bon-Bon
Bon-Bon Once this rascal is on your trail he doesn't give up! He'll bounce back to life even after you fry him. He appears in the 7th round.

Trophy Information

A devil who wields serious power in Devil World. In the game, the devil floats above the maze and commands by pointing. When it gives orders, its cyclopean minions turn cranks that scroll the maze in different directions. When Tamagon, your character in the game, places all the stage's books into a hole, the devil turns into a bat and flies away. It's quite striking, no?
