The Desert Colossus is an arid environment. On the south side is a dried-up oasis that Link can refill using the Song of Storms, spawning a bunch of fairies in the process. Near the east entrance to the area is a Great Fairy’s Fountain where Link can acquire Nayru's Love. On the west side is the Spirit Temple, the corresponding Triforce symbol is in the northwest corner of the colossus.
