Delfino Square is a course in Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Wii. It takes place on Delfino Plaza and features many references to the 2002 GameCube video game Super Mario Sunshine.

History[]

Mario Kart DS[]

Delfino Square is the second track of Flower Cup. It takes place in a Pianta city similar to the ones in Super Mario Sunshine. You might think it is one of the most beautiful course in the game. There are several human-like creatures known as Pianta watching and cheering at you. It is very long even longer than previous track, Desert Hills. It uses wonderful music theme that makes the city square even more brighter and better.

Layout: You start in the market street with bricked road and several Piantas. Then you go through Roman-like pendulum clocktower with gates that is always open. You go through the fountain roundabout until you found a recommended road which is a Victorian-like alley. You will have 2 decisions: left has several small black ramps which is long. If you prefer forward and ignore the left one, you will see very long ramp which is best road to choose with because going that way makes it easier to past your friendly foes. You then go to the dockyard pier with water danger and several shops. If you almost fall into water, don't worry. There is a narrow brown bridge trying to bring you to safety. Go to the exit of the dockyard pier and you will see the long bridge rising and lowering with almost five to seven zippers. If you exit the bridge, you will notice the orange bloom trees in the dingy grass. Then you go cross the finish.

Mission(s):

2-1: Crash into all 10 wooden crates and destroy every one!

3-2: Drive through all 5 numbered gates in order...backwards!

Mario Kart Wii[]

Delfino Square also appeared as a third retro track of Banana Cup in Mario Kart Wii. No major changes had being added and the music theme song is same without any game-affecting modifications or differences. As for aesthetics, the yellow autumn trees replaced orange blossom trees and the zippers are now pinkish-magenta instead of having runny, rainbow color. The helpful bridge in the dockyard danger is still there and the mud/sand shortcut is not removed as well. If the racers go to the bridge at the exit of the dock-like pier, they can perform tricks if the bridge is up.
