Data East Corporation(JP) is a former game publisher and developer with foundations in the early arcade industry. Many ports of those games were their first console games, and they began releasing the games in 1986. Data East was one of the first North American third party publishers for Nintendo systems.

Data East closed in 2003 and most of their intellectual property was acquired by G-Mode, Paon, Kadokawa Games, and Arc System Works.
