Origin and inspiration[]

Darumaka is based on a Daruma doll, and its Fire type is inspired by the traditional Daruma burning ceremony. When it is resting, it resembles the type of Daruma doll that does not tip over.

Galarian Darumaka may be based on a mixture of a snowman, called 雪だるま yuki-daruma in Japanese, and a yeti.
