Cygames, Inc.(JP)(CN) is a video game development studio that was established by CyberAgent, a Japanese web services company. It became involved with Nintendo in 2018 due to a partnership between the two companies to create Nintendo's first mobile game using an unestablished intellectual property, Dragalia Lost.
History[]
Cygames, Inc. was established as a studio in 2011 by CyberAgent, its parent company. In 2012, DeNA purchased a 24% stake in Cygames. In 2016, Cygames announced that its first large-format title for consoles, Project Awakening. In 2017, Cygames founded its esports team, Cygames Beast. In 2018, their partnership with Nintendo was announced. At a result of this partnership, Cygames would develop Dragalia Lost for Nintendo and Nintendo would become the owner of 5% of Cygames' stock.
