Crazy Taxi is a video game for the GameCube. It was first released in arcades and on the SEGA Dreamcast, though after the console failed and SEGA became a third party company, they ported the game for the GameCube.
Gamplay
In the game you drive a taxi cab. The purpose of the game, set in San Francisco, is to accompany several passengers - one at a time - into their own taxi and earn as much money as possible. The four protagonists are the Axel, BD Joe, Gena and Gus taxi drivers.
Passengers are indicated by the dollar symbol, which assumes a different color depending on the passenger's wealth and the distance to the destination. Colors range from red to dark green, passing through orange, yellow and light green. Time starts from 35 seconds and increases for each person transported, up to a maximum of 70.
Appearances
The game has also made appearances in a few Sonic the Hedgehog titles such as Sonic Riders, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
