Coins and bills from Brawl.
Coins in the Super Smash Bros. series, typically referred to as Smash Coins, are used during "Coin Battles". Unlike Time Battles and Stock Battles, the winner of Coin Battles goes to whoever can collect the most coins in the time limit. Coins typically fly out of a character when struck by an attack, but they can also be found inside capsule items. Getting KO'd also means losing half of the coins the character has collected.
In addition, there are also coins which are used for the Lottery feature in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and in the Coin Launcher game in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
