Clay (ヤーコン, Yacon) is the Gym Leader of Driftveil City's Gym, known officially as the Driftveil Gym. He specializes in Ground-type Pokémon. He gives the Quake Badge to Trainers who defeat him. In the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC it's revealed that he has a daughter, Lacey.

- As revealed in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, Clay and his daughter Lacey met Nemona at a formal party, during which Nemona challenged Clay to an impromptu battle after learning he was a gym leader.
