The Cave of Ordeals is a location in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It is a 50-floor gauntlet packed with 45 enemy-inhabited rooms, similar to the Savage Labyrinth in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Defeating all the enemies in each room opens the door to the next room. On every tenth floor is a Great Fairy; the ones on floors 10, 20, 30, and 40 release fairies to each of the spirit springs, while the one on the 50th and final floor rewards Link with the Great Fairy's Tears. The rooms following each of the Great Fairy rooms require Link to use a certain dungeon item in order to access the doors to the next room.
Description[]
The Cave of Ordeals is located in the Gerudo Desert. However, it is initially blocked by the center piece of the Bridge of Eldin, requiring Link and Midna to return it to its original location using a portal that Link just opened in the vicinity. Upon returning to the desert, a staircase leading into the cave is revealed.
