Castlevania: Dracula X (JP) is a Castlevania video game, and the final one in the series to be released on the SNES. In true Castlevania style, the game is a sidescrolling platformer, and unlike future installments does not include RPG elements. In Japan and America it was released in 1995 while in Europe it was released in 1996.

The game for the SNES is a remake of the PC Engine game, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. In the original, there were four paths that the player could go on, though in the remake there were, oddly, only two.

Plot

As always, the main goal in the game is to defeat the revival of Dracula, with the main character this time around being Richter Belmont.

Reception

While the game has been well received, IGN did note the poor level design and equally bad A.I. Nevertheless, they consider it as one of the better Castlevania games of old. Electronic Gaming Monthly, on the other hand, gave it an average of 6.8 out of 10. Gamepro gave it a similar score of only 2.5 out of 5 (5/10).
