Call of Duty: World at War is a DS and Wii video game released in November of 2008. It takes place in World War II, much to fan's disappointment after the previous release (Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) took place in current times (albeit featured a fictional war).

Plot[]

The game takes place during World War II, and involves the United States of America, Japan, Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. It is told from the perspectives of Marine Raider Private C. Miller, US Navy Petty Officer Locke and Soviet Army soldier, Private Dimitri Petrenko.

Gameplay[]

Gameplay is expected to be similar to the previously released CoD4, which wasn't released on the Wii. New gameplay elements include the ability to now swim in the water, though your speed will be dramatically reduced and you also won't be able to swim faster as you can on the ground by pressing the sprint button.

Co-op multiplayer has also been included for the first time in the series, and vehicles from the United Offensive Call of Duty video game had also returned.
