The Bridge of Eldin is an area featured in the Wii and GameCube video game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. In the video game, it is a way to get across the large canyon that separates the eastern part of Hyrule from the area across which features Zora's River, the Hidden Village, and so on.

The most notable part of this bridge is the epic boss battle against King Bulblin where Link and Epona (his trusty steed) will gallop from one end of the bridge to the other, while the colossal Bulblin and his large boar will charge from the opposing side. Once he comes up to Bulblin, he'd slash him with his sword, eventually making him fall of his boar and fall down into the canyon, thus killing him.

After this fight, the bridge is removed and taken to the Gerudo Mesa by Zant and his beasts, which prevents Link from crossing it. However, later on, with the help of Midna, he'd be able to transport it back to where it was, thus giving you access to that area once more.

It should also be noted that when Zant transported the bridge over the Gerudo Mesa, he was covering up the Cave of Ordeals. Once Link would remove the bridge, he would then be given access to the area.

Main Article: Bridge of Eldin (Super Smash Bros. Brawl)

The area is also featured as a stage in the Wii video game Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The stage is probably the flattest stage in the game, and for a while the stage where barely anything goes on - that is until King Bulblin from Twilight Princess enters the fray attacking everyone and dropping bombs on the bridge, thus destroying it. Later on the bridge will be repaired, though it can be conclusive that the malevolent creature will return and perform the same attack once again.

Your characters will have to jump over the gaps once part of the bridge have been destroyed, or he or she will die.

Development

Development on the bridge started fairly early on in the game's development, as an early build of it could be seen in the debuting trailer at E3 2005, in which it featured a large gate. In this trailer, Link and his horse Epona came galloping out of the gate, thus revealing that this trailer was indeed one of a Legend of Zelda video game, resulting in a thundering applause from the crowd. Also from the video and images it was revealed that the Bridge of Eldin was originally going to be placed in Hyrule Castle Town. In the final build, the once fantastic looking bridge was in ruins. What exactly happened is unknown.
