Boxing2

Gameplay

Boxing is one of the five sports available for Wii Sports and Wii Sports Club. To play the game, the Wii Remote must be connected to the Nunchuck. The player must punch the opponent and hold the Wii Remote on their dominant hand and the Nunchuck on the opposing side. To hit the opponent's body, the player must hold the Wii remote and Nunchuck down and punch. If the player wants to hit the opponent's head, they must hold the Wii Remote and Nunchuck up and punch. The player and the opponent both have health meters which empty when one of the two is hit. When it is completely empty, the boxer goes down, but they can still get back up again. If they don't get back up by a count of ten, the other person wins. If there is no clear winner by the end of round three, the winner will be decided by the judge.

Champion[]

The champion in boxing is Matt. If the player beats him in boxing, they can press 1 on the loading screen to get his silver boxing gloves. Matt is also the player's coach in training mode. Interestingly, Matt can be seen in the background of training mode in a picture of what appears to be a younger version of him and fellow Mii Andy in a boxing ring. Also in the background, a shelf of trophies can be seen, possibly for boxing.

In Wii Sports Club, the champion is a different Mii named Pit. After defeating him, the player can press 1 on the loading screen to get his boxing gloves, just like in Wii Sports. He can also be seen in a picture sitting next to Matt, who he presumably defeated to gain his title.

Trivia[]

  • The boxing game was seen in the 2014 movie Boyhood, as well as the 15th episode of the 1st season of The Big Bang Theory.
