Robert William "Bob" Hoskins, Jr. (October 26, 1942 - April 29, 2014) was an English actor and film director, known for playing Cockney rough diamonds, psychopaths, and gangsters in films. He was best known for his role as Eddie Valiant in the 1988 Touchstone Pictures film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
For Nintendo, he portrayed Mario in the 1993 live-action Super Mario Bros. movie.
