Blue Reflection: Second Light is a role-playing game from Koei Tecmo that released on the Nintendo Switch in 2021. The game is about a group of magical girls that find themselves in another world without their memories.
Gameplay[]
The game is a turn-based RPG with the player controlling the party of 3 girls. In the overworld, the player controls Ao in a typical 3D space. Enemies are visible and the player can avoid them with the stealth mechanics. If the player can attack without falling in the enemy's line of sight, they can get a surprise attack.
The actual combat is an active time battle with a timeline displayed on the bottom right of the screen. As the battle goes on, each character will generate ether, indicated by the respective character moving right on the timeline. Each action requires the character to spend ether with stronger attacks costing more. The enemies move towards the left on the timeline and can attack each time they meet up with one of the character icons. The player can switch between each of the party members by tapping the trigger buttons or keep them on auto and focus on Ao. Landing successive attacks builds up a combo that increases damage.
Plot[]
Ao Hoshizaki a girl whom regards herself as "normal" was on her way to summer classes when she suddenly vanished and awoke at an isolated high school surrounded by water, with no other people and no memory or understanding of her situation and only three other girls as companions. Slowly, Ao and the other girls begin to recall their memories as they venture into parallel dimensions, dubbed heartscapes.
