Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon is a game released for the Game Boy by Angel. It was released exclusively in Japan on December 18th, 1992. It has not been officially translated into English, although there are some fan translations available on the Internet.

Overview[]

In the game, the player controls Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon. The storyline is based on the first, third, and fourth episodes of the first season of the 90's anime.

Although they do not appear in the episodes, Usagi can meet and talk to Ami and Rei in-game.

Gameplay[]

The three levels are divided into two parts.

First, Usagi walks through the city, school or a health spa; occasionally talking to people. After talking to the right people, Usagi turns into Sailor Moon and enters another level in which she fights numerous enemies.

Sailor Moon can only use kicking attacks. Pressing the down button would make Sailor Moon sit down and cry. There are rocks on the wall nearby, her high-pitched crying can make the rocks explode and drop special items. These items give different attributes: one enables her to use Moon Tiara Action for a limited number of times, one makes her invincible for a short amount of time, etc.

The game also has several mini-games, one in which the player controls Sailor V and has to destroy a giant hamburger, similar to the Codename: Sailor V game that was shown in the anime.

Enemies[]

  • Morga
  • Kyurene
  • Jadeite
  • Queen Beryl

Sailor Moon has to fight Jadeite each time after defeating the two Youma. At the end of the last level, she has to fight him again before facing Queen Beryl.
