Big Man is a member of Deep Cut with Shiver and Frye in Splatoon 3. He is the first male member of a main pop group in the Splatoon series, as well as the first member who is not an Inkling or Octoling. He is one of the three newscasters in the game, as well as a character in its story mode.
Big Man is the third member of Deep Cut. As the main broadcasters in Splatsville, they announce the current battle stages, as well as the Splatfest teams.
Return of the Mammalians[]
Like Shiver and Frye, Big Man moonlights as a plunderer in Alterna, conflicting with Agent 3 over the junk they seek. He is the boss of the sixth world, where he drops into the stage as a manta ray silhouette. Before the player enters the final battle, they encounter Deep Cut one last time, where Callie gives them the treasure they used to make it to the rocket in Alterna, as they no longer have any use for it. Inspired by her kindness, Deep Cut declares Callie to be their new boss.

Trivia[]
Big Man's boss fight is extremely similar to the Phantamanta boss fight in Super Mario Sunshine. The Japanese, French, German, and Italian versions reference the Phantamanta mission in Big Man's title. In addition, his Dutch title is taken from the English name for Phantamanta's mission, and the Chinese and Korean are translated from the Japanese mission name.
