Bethesda is an American video game publisher and developer founded in 1986. They have been a part of the industry since the NES era. In 1999, the company became a subsidiary of ZeniMax Media. Since 2001, they have two distinct divisions, Bethesda Softworks LLC and Bethesda Game Studios, the first one being the publishing label for all ZeniMax games and the second one being specialized in developing games.
