The Beast Pack, known as the Beast Corps in Japanese, is the main antagonistic faction in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. They are a huge gang of sapient animals that have taken over the titular world. Fecto Elfilis relies on their help to reattain his complete form so he can plan his next invasion.
Members[]
Leaders[]
- Leongar -- The king of the beasts. Leongar leads the Beast Pack and dwells within the remnants of Lab Discovera. His appearance is a humanoid lion. He mainly attacks with claws and pouncing, but gains new, disturbing attacks after taking enough damage.
- Fecto Elfilis -- The true main antagonist. Fecto Elfilis was captured during his raid, researched, and split into two beings: Fecto Forgo and Elfilin. While the latter escaped, Fecto Forgo remained behind.
The Beast Council[]
- Clawroline -- Formerly known as Carol, this leopard makes her lair within the depths of a circus in Wondaria Remains known as "the big top," going by the title "lethal leopard" during her battle. She attacks with claws, pouncing, and knives. Clawroline is the second-in-command beneath Leongar himself.
- Gorimondo -- Gorimondo, also called the "Strong-armed Beast," makes his lair within the depths of a ruined shopping mall in Natural Plains.
- Sillydillo -- This odd armadillo is encountered within his den in the Originull Wasteland when Kirby arrives in his efforts to save Elfilin. Sillydillo's title is the "Armor-plated Prancer" when he squares off with the pink puff, and Silydillo has a habit of collecting things.
Notable Members[]
- Tortuilding -- The second boss in the game. The Tortuilding is a large Tortorner that menaces Kirby in Downtown Grasslands. He attacks by biting Kirby, who must take cover as the Tortuilding lunges. When the boss hits a pipe with his bite, a water spout will be released from the ruptured duct. Kirby must use this to get to a higher area to smash the Tortuilding with a cone in his mouth in order to defeat him.
- Big Red Tortuilding -- Tortuilding's bigger brother who faces Kirby later. The Big Red Tortuilding is much larger his sibling and has the same attack patterns and weaknesses. He is encountered in The Beast Pack's Final Stand as the boss of the level, the fourth boss in the world, and the fourth-to-last boss in the game.
- Fleurina -- This boss is an anthropomorphic swan ballerina who grants Tornado upon defeat. Her main weapon is her dance moves, which whip up storms in her arenas. She can be frozen solid with the Ice ability, preventing her from moving. Fleurina's description reveals that she treats her fights as dance lessons.
Common Mooks[]
Awoofy[]
These creatures are the most common creatures to be found in the game. Their appearance is similar to a fox, but with beady eyes. They usually walk around upright or sleep, but when they spot Kirby, Awoofies drop on all fours and pursue him. Awoofy grants no abilities when inhaled. Eight of them serve as the game's first boss, attacking when Kirby makes his way to the destroyed Waddle Dee Town in the game's intro stage.
Variants[]
Primal Awoofies are a variant that can be found in later stages. Their fur is darker and thicker, they have more hit points, and they are more aggressive.
Lookout Awoofies are Primal Awoofies that can be found in lookout towers in the stage Enter the Fiery Forbidden Lands, the first stage of Redgar Forbidden Lands. Their main ability is to summon swarms of their allies when they spot an intruder.
Balloon-Meister[]
These seals balance exploding balloons, then toss them. Balloon-Meisters and their balloons can be swallowed for the Bomb ability.
Bernard[]
These dog-like mooks wield guns. Bernards hide behind cover, poking out to survey their area. When they spot Kirby, they try to snipe him. Bernards give the Ranger ability.
Buffahorn[]
Buffahorns are bull-like monsters that charge. However, when Buffahorns charge, they cannot steer. Kirby can use their limited steering to his advantage and lure them off a cliff, but a Buffahorn will grant no copy abilities if he eats them.
Digguh[]
Without anyone encroaching upon their territory, these mole-like creatures just idle around. When they spot an intruder, Digguhs will immediately burrow into the dirt. When they emerge, Digguhs can throw dirt. Digguhs grant the Drill ability when swallowed.
Gnawcodile[]
Gnawcodiles are crocodile-like monsters that cannot be vacuumed up, although they can be defeated if rammed with a boat that Kirby is propelling with a hoop in his mouth. Gnawcodiles usually patrol their territory in the water by swimming back and forth between two points or swimming along a fixed path, but if one spots Kirby, it will dive beneath the surface to try to eat him. Escaping requires mashing the control stick. As it cannot be inhaled, a Gnawcodile cannot grant copy abilities.
Jabhog[]
This creature resembles a hedgehog. Whenever they see an intruder, Jabhogs try to skewer the trespasser by extending their spikes. Their movement speed is slowed in this state, but as compensation, Kirby cannot inhale them. Their spikes will retract in a few seconds. When they get swallowed, Jabhogs grant the Needle ability.
Mookie[]
Mookies are monkey creatures that wield hammers. They attack by throwing said hammers. Mookies and their hammers can be swallowed for the Hammer ability. In his figurine description, Bonkers is said to get along with the Mookies.
Poison Croakom[]
Poison Croakoms are amphibian monsters that start to appear in the game when Kirby visits the Originull Wastelands. They do not move, but can spit poison out of their mouths, making the ground hazardously surfaced. Kirby can defeat them if he drinks from a water fountain (thus swelling like a balloon) and then sprays the creatures with water. Kirby can also clean the poison sludge created by these creatures away. As it cannot be inhaled, a Poison Croakom grants no copy abilities.
Rabiroo[]
Rabiroos are semi-common purple rabbit/kangaroo hybrid creatures. Their anatomy consists of a rabbit's head, torso, and legs and the feet of a kangaroo. They attack by jumping and then stomping. A larger variant called the Orabiroo an be found later. Orabiroos look like their smaller counterparts, but are blue instead of purple.
Sssnacker[]
Sssnackers are snakelike creatures that start to come into the game when Kirby heads through the Originull Wastelands. They can be inhaled but grant no copy abilities if swallowed. Sssnackers tend to wander aimlessly on their own, but if Kirby encroaches their territory, the creatures will attack with a bite. Sssnackers take a while to recover from their bite's endlag, but if one hits Kirby, it will swallow him. If the player wriggles the control stick, Kirby can thrash around to make his escape, but if he dies to the Sssnackers, he will be spat out beforehand.
Tortorner[]
These turtle-like creatures cannot be swallowed, largely due to the slab of concrete that they wear as armour. Tortorners can be defeated, however, if Kirby stuffs a cone in his mouth and jabs his conical form's sharp point through the top side of their shell, skewing them from above.
Associates[]
King Dedede[]
King Dedede serves as the fourth major boss in the game, being fought in the level An Unexpected Beast King, which is the last required stage in World 4, Winter Horns. Dedede once again uses his hammer during the first half of his fight, but drops it after he takes enough damage, switching to a club fashioned from the remnants of a pillar in the citadel that Kirby and King Dedede are facing off in. Upon defeat, King Dedede captures Elfilin, making his getaway with some Clockers. Kirby is thus forced to head through the Originull Wasteland and the Redgar Forbidden Lands on his own in his journey to save Elfilin from Dedede.
Kirby later encounters him as the sixth major boss after his journey through the Redgar Forbidden Lands, more specifically in In the Presence of the King. This time, Dedede wields two hammers, with his moves being stronger takes on his moves in his first fight, and he has a fire aspect.
Bonkers[]
Bonkers is another recurring boss that can be found in certain stages. He once again wields a hammer, but the hammer's head is now stone with some paint in the shape of a cross on it. Bonkers has his coconut bombs replaced with durian bombs, and Kirby can once again defeat him for the Hammer ability. Bonkers is said to have cooperated well with the Mookies in his description.
Bonkers can this time be temporarily frozen with the Ice ability, and will take big damage when he breaks out.
Gigant Edge[]
Gigant Edge returns to help the Beast Pack. He now has some fur on his armour, and attacking his backside stuns him for a few seconds. Gigant Edge can be frozen temporarily by blasting him continuously with the Ice ability's ice spray, breaking out eventually at the cost of taking damage, and Kirby can eat him to get his hands on the Sword power.
Mister Frosty[]
Mister Frosty once again comes back, granting the Ice ability when he is defeated. Mister Frosty attacks by creating ice blocks and trying to eat and chew Kirby. Mister Frosty is said to find being the new guy tough in his description.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land portrays Mister Frosty with a single-strapped caveman tunic.
