Beam Swords are items found in the Super Smash Bros. series with a long reach that acts as a sword that can attack other players. When thrown at someone, they will be knocked a good distance back.
Appearance[]
The Beam Sword's appearance has changed multiple times through the series.
Super Smash Bros.[]
The Beam Sword had a generic hilt and a green glow.
Super Smash Bros. Melee[]
The Beam Sword's hilt is now grey, and the tip of the sword is now slanted, as well as it having a pinkish glow.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]
The Beam Sword's design has reverted back to the 64 design, but blue instead of green.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U[]
The Beam Sword returned to a Melee-like design, albeit with a different hilt.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
The Beam Sword's most recent appearance is mostly unchanged from the previous game, but with a more multicolored glow, and a spike towards the bottom of the hilt.
Trivia[]
- In the Japanese version of the original Super Smash Bros, the sounds of the Beam Sword were similar to the Lightsabers from the Star Wars franchise. This was changed in the international releases, likely due to copyright.
