Attract (メロメロ Mad Love ) is a non-damaging Normal-type move that was introduced in the second generation.
Effect[]
The move inflicts Pokemon of the opposite gender with the status affliction Infatuation, where the afflicted Pokemon has less of chance to hit opposing Pokemon. If the move is used on a Pokémon that is the same gender as the user or is genderless, it will fail. If the foe Pokémon holds a Destiny Knot and then becomes infatuated, the user will fall under the same effect. Unlike most status moves, this move will affect a target with a substitute. However, Protect and Magic Coat still work against it. If the opposing Pokemon has the ability Oblivious, the attack will not work.
