Atelier is a franchise of role-playing games that were primarily released on Playstation platforms. Prior to 2017, the only games on Nintendo platforms were spinoffs and cutdown remakes for handhelds. The franchise is owned by Gust who were bought by Koei Tecmo. However, with the Switch, the games have been getting same day releases with versions on par with other consoles. Additionally, remasters of the HD games have also come to the console.

In these games, the player is an alchemist that operates an atelier. Using alchemy, they craft a wide variety of goods and items. The player character adventures into the world with their friends to find ingredients.
