Army Men: Operation Green is a video game released in 2001 and 2002 by 3DO on the Game Boy Advance itself. The game starred the famous toy green soldiers against, once more, the Tan army. The game is similar to previous outings in the series, which include the Army Men PC titles.

Gameplay[]

The game is mission based and includes fifteen adventures that have you fighting off a host of different types of enemies. The game includes a wide variety of weapons, such as machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades and more. The game also features vehicle segments as well to help you take out even more enemies than normal.

The main character may initially have trouble dodging bullets due to the player's inexperience, though it may become easier once they learn how to efficiently sidestep using the L or R button. The select button, which normally isn't used in Game Boy Advance titles, is used to switch your weapons.

Throughout the entire game the player can check his mission map to find where you can follow through certain objectives which are indicated by arrows. Destroying enemy bases will oftentimes reveal critical supplies.

Reception[]

The game wasn't very well received. Nintendo Power in volume 152 gave the game three 2 out of fives, a 1.5 and a three and a half by the following Nintendo Power writers:

  • Alan: 2/5
  • Andy: 3.5/5
  • Drew: 1.5/5
  • Jenni: 2/5
  • Scott: 2/5
