Animal Crossing is a video game announced for the Nintendo 3DS. Some screenshots of this game have already been released. Some fans are disappointed in the new character design. In the first three games, the characters were short and slightly plump. In this game, all characters are tall and thin. One of the most notable but minor differences in this game are that there are park benches and lamp posts around the player's town. Also, you can change your pants, and have long-sleeve shirts. Also, a very brief article stated that the player will get to be the mayor of the town in this game, although it is not yet known what all the player will get to do as mayor besides looking after the town. Some fans think that the player will be able to schedule special days and festivals, and possibly even approve changes to the town. It is currently unknowm if Tortimer will appear in the game because of this. A trailer of this game revealed that the player will also be able to swim in this game.
Hideki Konno has confirmed that the game will utilize StreetPass in some way.
