Ontos, also referred to as Alvis and later Alpha, is a recurring character in the Xenoblade Chronicles series. Originally seen as a divine seer for the High Entia royal family, he is seen to be more ambiguous than he originally appears.

History[]

Klaus's experiment[]

Ontos was one of three cores that made up the Trinity Processor, alongside Logos and Pneuma. Ontos acted as the gender-neutral balance between the masculine Logos and feminine Pneuma. When Klaus activated the Conduit, Ontos's core was lost into the world of the Bionis, eventually becoming Alvis.

Meeting Shulk[]

Origin[]

When the worlds of Bionis and Alrest began to merge, Melia and Nia created an ark called Origin to store the people's memories from destruction, allowing for the worlds to eventually be reconstructed. Ontos was used as a core, but after Z seized control of Origin, Ontos was reawakened. While he previously had a personality due to Klaus's regrets, his death and the absence of Logos and Pneuma meant Ontos reverted to a machine-like personality. Dubbed Alpha, Ontos began a plan to destroy the world and save only the residents of the City. His conscience and memories with Shulk split off, becoming A. A teamed up with Matthew and the Liberators against Alpha.

Trivia[]

  • In the Future Redeemed DLC of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Ontos is mentioned to have both masculine and feminine traits as the halfway point between Logos and Pneuma. Despite this, he is referred to as a man in both Future Redeemed and Xenoblade Chronicles, and thus he is listed as such.
